New Delhi: All Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) will function normally on Sunday (September 27), ahead of a proposed three-day nationwide bank strike from September 28 to 30.

The decision has been taken to ensure that banking services are not disrupted for an extended period, as the proposed strike follows the weekend holidays on September 26 and 27.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the operation of all bank branches, offices, ATM-link branches and Currency Chests on September 27.

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has called for the proposed nationwide strike from September 28 to 30.

The government said the measures have been taken to safeguard the banking needs of citizens and ensure continuity of essential banking services.

The government and bank managements have also appealed to the unions to defer the proposed strike.

The Department said the welfare and convenience of bank customers remains a priority and that steps have been taken to ensure uninterrupted availability of essential banking services.
