New Delhi: The 77th Independence celebrations began at Coal India’s Corporate Headquarters in Kolkata with Coal India's Chairman and Functional Directors, paying floral tributes at the Martyrs' Memorial.

Coal India’s Chairman PM Prasad then hoisted the national flag. Speaking on the occasion, Prasad paid homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the Independence of this nation and also assured the nation that CIL is committed to meeting the 1 billion target with due regard to safety and conservation of the environment.

Chairman also launched the 14th Edition of ‘Koyla Darpan’. The Swachhata Karmis of Coal India were also felicitated on the occasion.

Coal India’s Director (P&IR) Vinay Ranjan, Director (Business Development) Debasish Nanda, Director (Marketing) Mukesh Choudhary and Coal India’s CVO B K Tripathy were present on the occasion.
