New Delhi: Engineers India Limited (EIL) is organising a two-day intra-industry Technical Paper Writing Competition - 'URJAALEKH' under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG), in New Delhi during July 28-29. EIL's Chairperson & Managing Director (CMD) Vartika Shukla along with Functional Directors of EIL and senior officials from Oil & Gas PSUs graced the inaugural ceremony.

Among the participating organizations are the mix of Maharatna and Navratna Oil and Gas CPSEs namely, BPCL, HPCL, EIL, GAIL, IOCL, OIL and ONGC. The event focuses on sharing best practices of Oil & Gas Sector, emerging trends & Innovation in the form of paper presentation under six categories namely: Operations, Supply Chain Management, Marketing & Sales, HSE & Quality, Finance & Human Resource Management.

Millennials from across the Oil & Gas PSU Industry participated in large numbers and almost 300 abstracts were received out of which 30 abstracts were identified for submission of full papers (approx. 5 papers in each category). An eminent jury comprising Experts from both the industry (former Directors and C&MDs of the Oil & Gas PSUs) and leading academic institutions would be evaluating the final presentations to shortlist best three presenters in each category to be awarded on concluding day of the event.

Addressing the inaugural session, EIL C&MD, while appreciating the team work emphasised that technical events of this ilk would be instrumental in deliberating on the thematic areas of relevance to the industry and society at large. Further, the critical examination of the ideas presented by millennials by the industry and academic stalwarts would be quintessential towards their successful implementation.
