New Delhi: Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri conducted a meeting on Friday with HE Frans Timmermans, European Commission's Executive VP for the European Green Deal in presence of Ugo Astuto, Ambassador of the European Union to India and Bhutan. The meeting focused on strengthening the clean energy and climate partnership between India and the European Union (EU).

Biofuels, green hydrogen & geopolitical landscape were major topics for discussion

During the engaging discussions, a wide range of topics were covered, including biofuels, green hydrogen, and the evolving geopolitical landscape. Both parties expressed a keen interest in fostering collaboration and advancing sustainable energy practices.

Puri highlighted the significance of the meeting, stating that it provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and explore avenues for cooperation in the field of clean energy and climate mitigation. India needs stable, secure and affordable energy supplies: Puri

On May 25, during CII Annual session, Puri highlighted that India needs a stable, secure and affordable energy supplies. He stated that India's energy demand is expected to increase to three percent per annum till 2040. The potential of alternative fuels discussed in the meeting could pave the way for satiating the rising demand of energy.
