RailTel posts 5% growth in net profit for Q3 FY25

The company also recorded a Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs 90 crore for the quarter, marking a 6 percent increase from Rs 84 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year

New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India Limited, a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, reported a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 65 crore for the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (Q3 FY25), reflecting a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 5 percent compared to Rs 62 crore in Q3 FY24.

The announcement was made during RailTel’s 151st Board Meeting held on January 27, 2025. The company also recorded a Profit Before Tax (PBT) of Rs 90 crore for the quarter, marking a 6 percent increase from Rs 84 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

RailTel’s operating income for Q3 FY25 stood at Rs 768 crore, demonstrating a robust YoY growth of 15 percent.

For the nine months ending December 31, 2024, RailTel achieved a total income of ₹2,222 crore, reflecting a significant 26% YoY growth. The PAT for this period amounted to Rs 186 crore, a 10 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.

Highlighting RailTel’s consistent performance, the company received an “Excellent” rating from the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) for its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) evaluation for FY23-24.

Commenting on the results, the Chairman and Managing Director of RailTel Sanjai Kumar said, “In its 25th year of journey, RailTel had another quarter of strong performance with consistent growth in operational revenue and profits. With a robust order book, we are well-positioned to make significant contributions to the nation’s expanding digital landscape and create value for our investors.”
