RailTel posts total income of Rs 613 crore in Q2 of FY'24; declares interim dividend

In 2nd quarter of FY 2023-24, RailTel posted a net profit of Rs 68 crore as against Rs 38 crore in Q1 of FY’24, registering a growth of 79 percent

New Delhi: RailTel announced its financial results for the second quarter (Q2) of financial year FY 2023-24 on Thursday. During the period the railways PSU posted the operating Income of Rs 599 crore with 40 percent year-on-year growth and with 28 percent quarter on quarter growth in its 142nd Board Meeting held on Thursday. The company has posted a total income of Rs 613 crore in Q2 of FY 2023-24.

The company posted Rs 90 crore profit before Tax (PBT) in Q2 of FY’24 as against Rs 51 crores in Q1 of FY’24, registering a 76 percent growth. As regards net profit, the company has posted Rs 68 crore in Q2 of FY'24 as against Rs 38 crore in Q1 of FY’24, registering a quarter-on- quarter growth of 79 percent.

For the half year ended on September 30, the company achieved a total income of Rs 1,096 crores and a net profit of Rs 108 crores registering a 33 percent year-on-year growth in both.

Talking about the results, RailTel’s Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Sanjai Kumar said, “operationally the company has been performing consistently with an impressive growth of 28 percent on QoQ basis in operating revenue and 76 percent QoQ growth in Profit before tax during this quarter. I am happy that the company has declared an interim dividend of Rupee One (Re.1/-) per share. With healthy order book, the company has visibility of substantial growth in operating Income in coming quarters.”
