The survey aims to assess the cooperative sector's contribution to the economy, and includes estimation of Gross Value Added, Gross Value Output, and employment generation by these bodies.

Delhi has around 6,000 cooperative societies related to agriculture and allied activities, labour, industry, credit, marketing, consumers, security services, motor transport and other areas.

As part of the survey, designated field officers of the National Statistical Office (NSO) may visit selected cooperative societies to collect information about employment, accounts, receipts and expenditure, and other operational aspects.

They may seek details of payroll registers, muster rolls, books of accounts, profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and other relevant records.

All cooperative societies and stakeholders should extend support to the visiting NSO officials and ensure the availability of requisite information and records to facilitate smooth and timely completion of the survey, it said.
