REC signs MoU with National Test House to strengthen quality assurance under RDSS

Under the MoU, REC and NTH will collaborate on third-party quality testing of RDSS materials through NTH’s NABL-accredited laboratories

New Delhi: REC Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Test House (NTH) to enhance quality testing and assurance mechanisms for materials deployed under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

The agreement was formalised on Wednesday at Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi, in the presence of senior government officials. The MoU was signed by Prabhat Kumar Singh, Executive Director (RDSS), REC Limited, and Dr. Alok Kumar Srivastava, Director General, NTH.

The signing ceremony was attended by Department of Consumer Affairs' Secretary Nidhi Khar (IAS); Department of Consumer Affairs' Additional Secretary Bharat Khera (IAS); and REC Limited's Executive Director (PMD) Prince Dhawan (IAS) among others.

The partnership is the outcome of sustained efforts by REC’s Project Management Division (PMD) – Quality Assurance Division, led by Yogendra Singh, GM & Head of Department, aimed at addressing quality gaps in procurement and installation of materials under RDSS.

Under the MoU, REC and NTH will collaborate on third-party quality testing of RDSS materials through NTH’s NABL-accredited laboratories. The two organisations will also jointly conduct technical workshops and training programmes, and work towards developing robust quality assurance frameworks to enhance reliability and safety standards in power distribution infrastructure across the country.
