RINL sets new record in Apr, produces 4,19,000 tonnes of hot metal from 2 blast furnace operations

RINL has recorded its best performance for the month of April by producing 4,19,000 tonnes of hot metal from two blast furnace operations

New Delhi: State-owned RINL said in a statement on Saturday that the company has recorded its best performance for the month of April by producing 4,19,000 tonnes of hot metal from two blast furnace operations, registering a growth of 20 percent over the corresponding period last year.

Production of hot metal in blast furnaces

The state-run PSU noted that it produced 2,02,000 tonnes of hot metal from Godavari Blast furnace-1, registering a growth of 14 percent in the corresponding period last year. Further, it produced 2,18,000 tonnes of hot metal from Krishna Blast furnace-2, registering an increase of 26 percent in the corresponding period last year, the statement added.

RINL also stated that it produced 61,000 tonnes of products from Structural Mill, recording a growth of more than 100 percent. Further, "it produced 1,43,000 tonnes of finished steel from expansion units and 80,000 tonnes of high-end value-added steel," said the statement.

Blast Furnace Productivity

On the basis of technical parameters, a blast furnace productivity of 2.09 tonnes of Hot Metal /day/cum by both the blast furnaces was achieved by the company, said the company. Further, it noted that "a Blast furnace productivity of 2.01 tonnes of Hot Metal /day/cum was achieved by Blast Furnace-1." "A Blast furnace productivity of 2.17 tonnes of Hot Metal /day/cum by Blast Furnace -2 was achieved during the month of April," it added.
