New Delhi: State-run engineering consultancy and transport infrastructure company RITES Limited has secured an enhanced order from Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited, with the contract value increasing to Rs 148.93 crore from the earlier Rs 120.13 crore, excluding GST.

According to a regulatory filing made by RITES on Thursday, the company and NUPPL have executed an amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier on February 13, 2025, for the operation and maintenance of the NUPPL/Ghatampur Thermal Power Plant (GTPP) railway siding.
The amendment provides for the inclusion of hiring locomotives on a wet-lease basis for in-plant movement and shunting operations of railway rakes at the NUPPL-GTPP railway siding.
Under the revised scope, RITES will undertake comprehensive operation and maintenance of the railway siding along with providing locomotives on a wet-lease basis for a period of 48 months.
NUPPL, the project owner, is a joint venture between NLC India Limited and Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited.

The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and will remain valid for five years from the date of the original MoU signed in February 2025.
RITES stated that the contract value has been enhanced by approximately Rs 28.8 crore, taking the total order size to Rs 148.93 crore, excluding GST.
