RVNL bags Rs 359 crore railway doubling contract from East Central Railway

RVNL on Tuesday said that it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from East Central Railway for a railway doubling project valued at Rs 358.97 crore

New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) on Tuesday said that it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from East Central Railway for a railway doubling project valued at Rs 358.97 crore, including GST. The contract has been awarded in connection with the doubling of the Sitamarhi-Raxaul section `in the Samastipur Division.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchnages, the company informed that the project involves the construction of doubling works between Kundawa Chainpur (excluding) and Raxaul (excluding), covering a stretch of 41.04 km.

The scope of work includes earthwork, blanketing, construction of minor and major bridges, station and other railway buildings, platform works, level crossing works and other miscellaneous civil works designed for 25-tonne Indian Railway Standard Loading.

According to the company, the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract is to be executed within 1,095 days. The order has been awarded by a domestic entity in the normal course of RVNL's business.
