RVNL secures Rs 115.79 crore order from Central Railway for traction system upgrade

RVNL on Thursday said that it has received a LoA valued at Rs 115.79 crore from Central Railway for a significant electrification upgrade project

New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has secured a major contract from Central Railway valued at Rs 115.79 crore for the upgradation of electric traction infrastructure.

The Letter of Acceptance (LOA) pertains to the “OHE Modification Work for Up-gradation of existing 1x25 KV Electric Traction System to 2x25 KV AT Feeding System in the Itarsi–Amla Section in the Nagpur Division of Central Railway.” The project aims to support a loading target of 3,000 metric tonnes (MT), enhancing the capacity and operational efficiency of this key freight corridor.

The total cost of the project is Rs 115,79,37,241.11 (Rupees One Hundred Fifteen Crore Seventy-Nine Lakh Thirty-Seven Thousand Two Hundred Forty-One and Eleven Paisa), inclusive of applicable taxes.

In an official stock exchange filing, RVNL stated that the contract has been awarded in the normal course of business.
