According to the company's financial results announced on Friday, revenue from operations increased marginally to Rs 26,246 crore in the April-June quarter of FY27, compared with Rs 25,921 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) also rose significantly to Rs 4,356 crore from Rs 2,925 crore a year earlier, while profit before tax (PBT) climbed to Rs 2,159 crore from Rs 890 crore.

SAIL's crude steel production stood at 4.76 million tonnes during the quarter, compared with 4.85 million tonnes in the corresponding quarter of FY26. Sales volume declined to 4.16 million tonnes from 4.55 million tonnes in the year-ago period.

The company said production and sales volumes were moderated during the quarter as it advanced certain scheduled repairs and maintenance activities in response to geopolitical uncertainties that disrupted global supply chains. It said the planned intervention is expected to enhance production stability and operational performance in the coming quarters.
