SAIL supplies 34,000 tonne steel of desired grade for use in Central Vista project

BSP supplied 8,500 tonnes of highly corrosion-resistant TMT Bars like TMT25 and 32 mm HCR from Merchant Mill and TMT16 mm HCR from Bar and Rod Mill

New Delhi: Maharatna PSU SAIL's three units including, Bhilai, IISCO and Durgapur Steel Plants have supplied 34,000 tonnes of steel of desired grade for use in Central Vista project, informed BSP in a tweet posted on Friday. "BSP supplied 8,500 tonnes of highly corrosion-resistant TMT Bars like TMT25 and 32 mm HCR from Merchant Mill and TMT16 mm HCR from Bar and Rod Mill," it said.

What's Central Vista Project?

The ongoing Central Vista project aims at improving governance infrastructure by building new facilities and redeveloping existing facilities for the Parliament and Central Ministries.

A news report by Hitavada also stated that SAIL BSP has also been supplying TMT bars for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project. Further, it said that BSP has supplied 1,90,000 of steel for this project. Apart from this, TMT bars supplied by BSP have been used in projects like, Bandra-Worli Sea Link Bridge, Statue of Unity, Agra Expressway, etc, it reported.
