New Delhi: The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), in collaboration with GIZ Germany, organised an outreach workshop on Climate Action Goals in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) to promote industrial decarbonisation and green skilling among Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs).

The workshop, held under the India-Sweden partnership through the Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT), brought together around 40 senior officials from various PSEs. Senior representatives from MoEFCC, GIZ, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and Volvo addressed the participants and shared perspectives on accelerating India's industrial decarbonisation efforts.
According to the official statement, the technical sessions, led by officials from MoEFCC and the LeadIT Secretariat, focused on industrial decarbonisation pathways and technology interventions aimed at helping Indian PSEs advance their transition towards low-carbon operations.

A key highlight of the programme was a sustainability exchange visit to BEL, where participants were introduced to the company's net-zero roadmap, sustainability initiatives and renewable energy practices. The visit also showcased BEL's rejuvenated Doddabommasandra Lake as a model for water conservation and biodiversity restoration, alongside discussions on resource optimisation and climate-resilient industrial practices.
Volvo also shared insights into technological pathways for decarbonising the transport sector, complementing the discussions on sustainable industrial transformation.
SCOPE said it will continue to organise such capacity-building initiatives as part of its commitment to promoting green skilling, fostering knowledge exchange and supporting the development of a climate-resilient future.
