Organised under the theme "Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability," the summit brought together more than 50 international delegates and around 70 representatives from Indian trade unions, labour experts and academicians to discuss the future of work, labour welfare and inclusive economic development.
The deliberations focused on four key areas: universal social security and portability of benefits, human-centric technology and responsible artificial intelligence (AI), skill development for the future of work, and women's participation in the evolving world of work.
During a panel discussion on "Best Practices in BRICS+ Countries," Das highlighted Coal India's human resource management and employee welfare initiatives, showcasing the company's people-centric approach for its workforce of more than 2.2 lakh employees. He spoke about initiatives related to employee welfare, women empowerment, skill development and healthy industrial relations that have contributed to a collaborative workplace culture.
