New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said the Cabinet approval for the Rs 20,667 crore Ahmedabad (Sarkhej)-Dholera semi-high-speed double rail line project is a powerful testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary goal of transforming the country into a hub of connectivity, innovation and manufacturing.

In a post on X, Shah said the project will play a crucial role in establishing Gujarat as a global centre for manufacturing and logistics, while also generating significant employment.
"It is a matter of great joy for me as well that this project will pass through my parliamentary constituency. This 134 km long rail line will connect Ahmedabad to the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) and Greenfield Industrial Smart City, and will ensure connectivity for Namo Bharat trains," he said in his post in Hindi.
The home minister added that the project will provide direct connectivity to the Dholera International Airport and the Lothal National Maritime Heritage Complex.
"This Rs 20,667 crore project will play an important role in creating employment as well as in making Gujarat a global centre for manufacturing and logistics," he said.
Shah also congratulated the people of Nagpur for the Cabinet's decision to upgrade and modernise the Nagpur International Airport.

On the Cabinet's nod to a Rs-37,500 crore scheme to promote surface coal and lignite gasification projects, he said it will serve new steam to India's economic growth.
"It will also accelerate the realisation of Modiji's vision of optimising our energy capabilities, while creating 50,000 jobs," the home minister said.
