New Delhi: SJVN Limited successfully organised a Special Vendor Development Meet 2026 for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the national capital, aimed at strengthening vendor engagement and enhancing participation of small businesses in its procurement ecosystem.
The event was graced by SJVN Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) Bhupender Gupta as the Chief Guest, along with Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Finance) Sipan Kumar Garg, and senior officials from the company’s Corporate Headquarters in Shimla and its Delhi liaison office. Representatives from various partner organisations and MSMEs also attended the meet.
In his inaugural address, Gupta said the Vendor Development Meet would act as a catalyst for forging new partnerships, unlocking opportunities, and strengthening collaborations. He noted that since 2018, SJVN has organised 36 such meets, reaffirming its commitment to vendor empowerment. He emphasised the need to integrate SC/ST and women-owned MSMEs into the mainstream economic ecosystem and enhance their participation in procurement processes.
Sharma highlighted that SJVN has been proactively engaging with MSMEs to meet its procurement targets and extend the benefits of public procurement to Micro and Small Enterprises, including those owned by SC/ST entrepreneurs and women. He added that such initiatives contribute to building a self-reliant and inclusive MSME network in line with the vision of AatmaNirbhar Bharat.
Garg underlined that MSMEs form the backbone of the Indian economy and play a critical role in achieving the vision of Vikshit Bharat 2047, as envisaged by Narendra Modi. He said SJVN aims to foster a collaborative ecosystem for knowledge sharing and exchange of best practices with MSMEs.
The meet featured detailed presentations by representatives from Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government e-Marketplace, Quality Council of India, Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs, among others. These sessions aimed to familiarise vendors with procurement procedures, registration processes on digital platforms, and various support schemes.
An interactive Q&A session followed, focusing on SJVN’s e-procurement systems and opportunities available for vendors. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Executive Director (HR) Chandra Shekhar Yadav, who reiterated the importance of such initiatives in streamlining procurement processes and empowering MSMEs.
