SJVN to set up 360 MW solar project in Bhuj, Gujarat

SJVN-owned SGEL has signed a contract agreement for the balance of system (BoS) of 360 MW Solar Power Project with Solar World Energy Solutions Private Limited, Noida

New Delhi: SJVN Limited owned SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) has signed a contract agreement for the Balance of System (BoS) of 360 MW Solar Power Project with Solar World Energy Solutions Private Limited, Noida. The contract includes operation and maintenance of the Solar PV Plant for a period of three years. The agreement has been signed in the presence of SJVN's Director (Finance) Akhileshwar Singh, SGEL's CEO Ajay Singh and senior official of SGEL and Solar World Energy Solutions.

SJVN CMD NL Sharma apprised that the 360 MW Solar Power Project to be developed by SJVN through SGEL will be located in Bhuj, District Kutch, Gujarat. Earlier the project has been secured on build own and operate basis in open competitive bidding process conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL). A Power Purchase Agreement for the project has been signed between SGEL and GUVNL for 25 years.

The project is expected to generate 901.87 million units in the first year and the cumulative energy generation over 25 years is estimated at around 21244 million units. The commissioning of this project is expected to reduce 1040975 tonnes of carbon emission. This would contribute in Gove*rnment of India’s mission of Carbon reduction for a carbon neutral economy.
