Scrap disposal reached 17,686 metric tonnes against a target of 10,909 metric tonnes, achieving 162 percent of the target and generating revenue of Rs 61.41 crore.

The Ministry also reported 100 percent disposal of public grievances, resolving all 253 cases, and cleared all 52 PMO references received during the campaign.

On the administrative front, the Ministry reviewed 1,79,793 physical and electronic files against a target of 59,593. A total of 1,70,336 files were weeded out or closed. The campaign also saw extensive public outreach through 16,424 social media posts on X (formerly Twitter) and 38 press releases issued through the Press Information Bureau (PIB).

PSUs showcase waste-to-wealth initiatives

Several coal and power sector PSUs implemented innovative initiatives during the campaign, focusing on waste recycling, sustainable resource utilisation and employee welfare.

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) developed a Waste-to-Wealth Children's Eco Park at Mine-I in Neyveli, which was inaugurated on October 22, 2026. The park incorporates 2.5 metric tonnes of reused iron scrap, 3,000 solid blocks and salvaged timber, including wood recovered from trees felled during Cyclone Thane.

Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) converted a large room previously used for storing discarded materials into a fully equipped crèche at its headquarters in Sanctoria. The initiative demonstrates the productive utilisation of unused space while improving employee welfare facilities.

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), in its Krishnashila Area, repurposed discarded oil drums to create an attractive welcome signboard for 'Krishnakunj', turning scrap material into a decorative installation.

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) also undertook several waste-to-wealth initiatives. At its Singhali Underground Mine in the Korba Area, employees developed a working model of the Paste-Fill Mining System using scrap materials to demonstrate the use of fly ash and industrial waste for filling mined-out voids, improving structural stability and preventing land subsidence.

At SECL's Kusmunda Area, employees created a replica of Tiger Hill featuring soldier figures and the national flag to commemorate the sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1999 Kargil War. The Bhatgaon Area also developed a 'Kabaad Se Jugaad' installation featuring a miner figure to promote recycling, waste reduction and sustainable practices.

Similarly, Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), through its Mandamarri Area, transformed discarded scrap materials into artworks featuring a Shiv Ling and a Trishul, promoting resource reuse and reducing scrap accumulation at its premises.
