Titagarh Wagons secures Rs 857 cr contract for Surat Metro Rail Phase-I Project from GMRC

Titagarh Wagons has been awarded a substantial contract for the Surat Metro Rail Phase-I Project worth Rs 857 crores from Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation

New Delhi: Titagarh Wagons announced on Tuesday in a regulatory filing that it has been awarded a substantial contract for the Surat Metro Rail Phase-I Project worth Rs 857 crores. The company received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited, confirming their selection for the project.

Terms & conditions

Under the terms of the agreement, Titagarh Wagons will undertake the "Design, Manufacture, Supply, Testing, Commissioning, and Training of 72 nos. of Standard Gauge Cars" for the Surat Metro Rail Phase-I Project, the filing noted.

Time period for project completion

Further, the filing said that the execution of the project is scheduled to begin 76 weeks after the signing of the contract and is expected to be completed within 132 weeks thereafter.
