Union Steel Minister visits Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, expresses confidence in RINL's revival

The Minister highlighted RINL's progress over the past three months and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving a historic Rs 11,440 crore package for the plant’s revival

New Delhi: The Union Minister for Steel & Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy along with the Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, visited the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL) on January 30. The Ministers were accompanied by several dignitaries, including Members of Parliament M Sri Bharat, CM Ramesh, and Palla Srinivasa Rao, among others.

During their visit, the Ministers expressed confidence in RINL's workforce and their potential to drive the company toward profitability. They inaugurated the Resurgence Park at the Blast Furnace-2 area and acknowledged the hard work of the employees.

Kumaraswamy highlighted RINL's progress over the past three months and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving a historic Rs 11,440 crore package for the plant’s revival. He also expressed gratitude towards key political leaders for their continuous support in securing assistance for RINL.

In his address, Kumaraswamy emphasized RINL's significant role in achieving India’s 300 million tons production target under the *Viksit Bharat-Atma Nirbhar Bharat* initiative. He also prayed for the strength of the workforce to overcome challenges and achieve greater heights.

Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma echoed the sentiments of the Union Minister and urged employees to work diligently to restore RINL’s former glory.

RINL's CMD (additional charge) AK Saxena thanked the Ministers and other officials for their ongoing efforts to revive the plant, and a subsequent interaction was held with representatives of various trade unions and associations to discuss the way forward for RINL.
