New Delhi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday affirmed Uttar Pradesh's commitment to increasing the income of milk producers, strengthening rural economies built around livestock, and ensuring high-quality dairy products for consumers.

He was speaking at an event to mark the MoU signing between Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Dairy Federation (PCDF) and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) for the operation of three dairy plants in Kanpur, Gorakhpur, and Kannauj, along with a animal feed production facility in Ambedkar Nagar.

"The Uttar Pradesh Government is working with full dedication to make the state's dairy sector self-reliant, technologically equipped, and profitable for farmers," he said.

The chief minister said that by handing over the management of PCDF to NDDB, the cooperatives will improve in terms of technical skill, transparency, and direct benefits for farmers, as per an official statement.

Adityanath also highlighted that dairy development in Uttar Pradesh has given a new boost to women empowerment.

He noted that even though the state had great potential in farming and animal husbandry, previous governments had ignored this sector due to lack of vision and proper policies. This left farmers disappointed and reduced the state's valuable livestock, the statement said quoting the CM.

"But after 2014, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, there have been revolutionary changes in agriculture and related areas. These sectors have now become attractive to youth and are creating new job opportunities," it added.

The chief minister urged PCDF to adopt NDDB's best practices, emphasizing that the partnership will steer Uttar Pradesh's dairy sector toward a more progressive and efficient future.
