78th Independence Day celebrated at Coal India

The 78th Independence celebrations began at the Coal India Limited's (CIL) corporate headquarters in Kolkata with patriotic zeal

New Delhi: The 78th Independence celebrations began at the Coal India Limited's (CIL) corporate headquarters in Kolkata, with the Chairman, Functional Directors, and CVO paying floral tributes at the Martyrs' Memorial.

CIL Chairman PM Prasad, then hoisted the national flag. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that Coal India is committed to meeting the nation's energy needs in a sustainable manner while prioritizing safety.

He asked Coal Indians to work towards the objective of making the nation 'Atma Nirbhar' by reducing coal imports.

Chairman also unveiled the 16th edition of ‘Koyla Darpan’. Neem saplings were distributed to employees by the Chairman and FDs as a part of the “एक पेड़ मां के नाम” campaign.

Bimla Prasad, President CILOWS, handed sweets and snack hampers to the representative of Sukanya, an orphanage for girls in Kolkata, and also felicitated Swachhata Karmis of CIL on the occasion.

CIL's Director (P&IR) Vinay Ranjan, Director (Technical) Dr B Veera Reddy, Director (Business Development) Debasish Nanda, Director (Marketing) Mukesh Choudhary, Director (Finance) Mukesh Agrawal and CVO BK Tripathy were present on the occasion.
