NALCO is giving Rajdhani Express an Odiya makeover

As per an MoU signed between NALCO and Railways, NALCO will decorate Rajdhani Express coaches with paintings showcasing Odisha’s art

Bhubaneswar: National Aluminium Company (NALCO), a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Mines, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with East-Coast Railway recently. Under this MoU, Bhubaneswar-Rajdhani Express, which starts from Bhubaneswar and reaches New Delhi covering different states will be branded with a view of Odisha's art & culture. "The Railway Ministry had approved this project with efforts from Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan," the press release added.

As per the agreement, the outer side of the coaches of the train shall showcase Odisha's Pattachitra (one of the oldest and most popular art forms of Odisha), tourist places of Odisha and popular classical and folk dances of the state. This newly-branded Rajdhani Express shall be flagged off by Union Minister of Petroleum, Natural Gas & Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Union Minister of Mines, Coal & Parliamentary Affairs, Prahallad Joshi, from New Delhi Railway Station.

"Work for transforming the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express into the Express of Odisha's Art & Culture has commenced and it is expected to be completed by the middle of October 2019," a press release by NALCO said.
