SECL launches 'Inner Excellence Series' to promote mental well-being, workplace safety

New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has launched the 'SECL – Inner Excellence Series' to promote personality development, mental well-being and a culture of excellence among employees, with a focus on strengthening workplace and mine safety.

The initiative was launched during a programme on the theme 'Mine Safety & Mind Safety – Safe Mind, Safe Mine' organised at SECL Headquarters in Bilaspur under the National Campaign on Environmental Protection and Disaster Management. The event was jointly organised by SECL and the Scientists, Engineers & Architects (SEA) Wing of the Brahma Kumaris.

SECL Chairman and Managing Director Harish Duhan attended the programme as the chief guest, while BK Piyush Bhai, National Coordinator of the Scientists, Engineers & Architects (SEA) Wing of the Brahma Kumaris, delivered the keynote address. Director (Technical/Operations) N. Franklin Jayakumar, Chief Vigilance Officer Himanshu Jain, Director (Technical/Planning & Projects) Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra, BK Manju Didi, senior officials and employees also participated in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, BK Piyush Bhai said that a safe mindset is the foundation of mine safety, stressing that the safety of mining operations depends not only on technology and machinery but also on the balanced and positive mindset of employees. He highlighted positive thinking, focus on the present, smart work, dedication and regular meditation as key elements for building a safe and productive workplace.

Addressing employees, Duhan urged them to continuously improve themselves and contribute meaningfully to nation-building. He emphasised the importance of performing duties with commitment, integrity and a positive outlook while striving for personal and professional excellence.

As part of the programme, employees took a collective pledge on environmental protection and disaster management. A guided meditation session was also organised to help participants learn practical techniques for stress management, mental well-being and adopting a positive lifestyle.
