New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Saravanan U for the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) on Thursday.

According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Saravanan has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. January 31, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Saravanan was recommended for the post of CMD of NFL from a list of two candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on February 3, 2023.

On assumption the charge as CMD of NFL, Saravanan will be the Chief Executive of the corporation and shall be accountable to its board of directors and the government. He will also be responsible for the efficient functioning of the corporation for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters. Presently, he is posted as CMD of Madras Fertilizers Ltd (MFL).
