ACC approves a numbers of appointments in educational & research organisations

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for appointment Dr R Chandrasekaran to the post of Director, Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT), Chennai. He has been appointed on the post on deputation basis for a period of three years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Tamil, Government Arts and Science College, Mullipuram, Tamil Nadu.

In another order issued on May 28, the ACC has approved the proposal for appointment of R Appavuraj (Scientist) Retd. to the post of Chairperson of Centre for Personnel and Talent Management (CEPTAM),  a corporate body of DRDO.

Further, ACC has approved the proposal for appointment of Dr Debi Prasad Mishra to the post of Director of National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training & Research (NITTTR), Kolkata. He has been appointed on the post on contract basis for a period of five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or till he attains the age of 65 years, or until further orders, whichever is the earlier. He is currently serving as Professor at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur.

Further, the Committee has approved the proposal for appointment of Professor Partha Protim Chattopadhyay to the post of Director, National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (NIFFT), Ranchi. He has been appointed on the post for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Chattopadhyay is currently serving as Professor at Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, West Bengal.

In another order issued on the same day, the ACC has approved the proposal for in-situ promotion of Sujata Chaklanobis, for promotion from the grade of Scientist 'F' to the grade of Scientist 'G' under the Modified Flexible Complementing Scheme (MFCS) with effect from May 27, i.e. the date of approval of the ACC and until further orders.

ACC has also approved the proposal for appointment of Dr Srinivasa Kumar Tummala, Scientist 'F', INCOIS, Hyderabad to the post of Director, Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Hyderabad for a period of five years on direct recruitment basis, with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or till attaining the age of superannuation (i.e. 60 years), or until further orders, whichever is the earlier.
