The extension is effective for a further period of three months from July 15, 2025, to October 14, 2025, or until a regular incumbent assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

This development has been conveyed through an official communication from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on July 25.

Earlier, Ravi was entrusted with the additional charge of CMD, MTNL, and this extension ensures leadership continuity as the government navigates the strategic transition of the telecom PSU. Ravi’s leadership at BSNL and the dual responsibility at MTNL comes at a critical juncture for both state-run telecom enterprises.
