Ajay Kumar Sahani assumes charge as CVO of IREDA

New Delhi: Ajay Kumar Sahani, an accomplished professional with an impressive track record in the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME), has taken charge as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA). Sahani assumed his new responsibilities on October 16, serving on deputation for a period of three years, according to an official release.

Before his appointment as CVO at IREDA, Sahani held the position of Deputy Chief Engineer at Banaras Locomotive Works, Varanasi, Indian Railways. Prior to this, he played a pivotal role as a Mechanical Engineer in the Border Roads Engineering Services under Project 'Deepak 1059BRTF' at Manali, Himachal Pradesh.

Sahani has contributed significantly to a range of areas

Throughout his tenure in the Indian Railways, Sahani has contributed significantly to a range of areas, including the maintenance of wagons, operation, and maintenance of 140-ton rail cranes, overseeing accident relief trains and accident relief medical vans, management of crew, maintenance, and operation of diesel locomotives, and the installation and maintenance of sophisticated CNC wheel tuning and axle turning lathe machines.

His extensive service has spanned across various regions, including Eastern Railways, Southeast Central Railways, North Central Railways, and Banaras Locomotive Works. Sahani holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical from Jorhat Engineering College in Assam.

Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), warmly greeted Sahani as he assumed the position of CVO. He expressed his confidence that Sahani, in his capacity as CVO, will effectively maintain the highest standard of integrity, transparency and vigilance within the organization, the official release said.
