Ajay Yadav (IAS) assumes charge as Managing Director of SECI

New Delhi: Ajay Yadav (IAS) has assumed charge as Managing Director of Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI), a PSU under the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE). He has taken over additional charge of the post with effect from May 31, 2023. With his new assignment, Yadav has succeeded SECI's former MD Suman Sharma (IRS), who had joined UPSC on May 25.

Yadav is a 2005-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Bihar cadre. Presently, he is serving as Joint Secretary in MNRE. Prior to joining MNRE as Joint Secretary, he was working as Private Secretary to Minister of Civil Aviation. He started his career as an Assistant Collector in Patna, Bihar, and has subsequently held several important positions in the Govt of India and State Govt. He holds Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) is a Miniratna Category-I Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) incorporated in the year 2011. SECI is the primary implementing agency of the MNRE for renewable energy schemes/projects towards fulfilment of India's international commitments.

Till date, SECI has awarded RE project capacities of over 58 GW. SECI is also active in setting up of projects through its own investments as well as for other public sector entities as Project Management Consultant (PMC). SECI enjoys highest credit rating of AAA by ICRA.
