Mishra is currently serving as Executive Director (Contract Management) at Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), another PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways. He was selected for the IRCON post from a pool of 11 candidates interviewed by the PESB on February 1, 2025. The panel included seven candidates from IRCON, and one each from RITES Limited, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), DFCCIL, and Indian Railways.

As Director (Works), Mishra will be responsible for steering IRCON’s project execution functions, both domestically and internationally. His mandate includes the planning, estimation, conceptualization, and execution of infrastructure projects, as well as strengthening the company’s project portfolio through effective management and alignment with national indigenization and compliance policies.
