Alok Tiwari (IRSE) has taken over the additional charge as Managing Director of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL)

New Delhi: Senior railway engineer Alok Tiwari has taken over the additional charge as Managing Director of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL). He is a 1988-batch Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) officer and is presently serving as Additional Member (Bridge) at Railway Board.

Tiwari assumed the additional responsibility on October 1, while continuing to serve as Additional Member (Bridge) in the Railway Board. The arrangement will remain effective until further orders.

Tiwari brings more than 36 years of experience in Indian Railways, with a career spanning infrastructure planning, construction, project execution, safety, freight operations and administration. During his career, he has been associated with the complete lifecycle of major railway infrastructure projects and has directly constructed and commissioned more than 1,000 km of railway infrastructure.

His experience includes senior assignments in railway construction, safety and operations. He has served as Chief Administrative Officer (Construction) at South East Central Railway, Principal Chief Safety Officer at South Western Railway and Divisional Railway Manager of Guntakal Division.

He has also served as Chief Project Manager-cum-Group General Manager at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), giving him experience in large-scale project execution outside the conventional railway zonal structure.

Tiwari was appointed Additional Member (Bridge) in the Railway Board in February 2026 after serving as Principal Executive Director (Bridge). The role has placed him at the senior-most level of railway infrastructure planning, particularly in areas involving bridges and major engineering assets.
