Amol Babulal Taori set to be next Director (Finance) of Power Grid

The PESB panel has recommended the name of Amol Babulal Taori for the post of Director (Finance) of Power Grid on Thursday

New Delhi: Amol Babulal Taori is set to be next Director (Finance) of Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director (International Trade) at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).

The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 33/2026 held on April 23.

Taori has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of Power Grid from a pool of 12 candidates who were interviewed by the board for the top finance position. The list of candidates included several senior officials from Power Grid, Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid-India), Indian Oil Corporation Limited, and Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited, among others.

However, the final appointment will be subject to approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

As Director (Finance) of Power Grid, Taori will be a member of Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be the overall in-charge of Finance and Accounts functions of the organisation and be responsible for evolving and formulating related policies and their implementation including financial planning, budgeting, costing, financial control, preparation of financial statements in compliance with corporate norms and statutory requirements.
