Anil Mukim appointed as Chairman of GSPC

Anil Mukim, who is serving as Managing Director of GSPC, has been appointed as Chairman of the state-run gas company

New Delhi: Anil Mukim (IAS) has been appointed as Chairman of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited (GSPC), a state-run petroleum & gas company. Prior to this assignment, Mukim was serving as Managing Director (MD) in the same organisation. According to a statement, Mukim has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of GSPL with effect from February 27. His appointment has been approved by the board of directors in its meeting held on March 3. With this, Mukim (IAS) will act as Chairman as well as Managing Director on the board of the company. The information has been shared by GSPCL during the regulatory filing to the stock exchange.

Anil Mukim is 1985 batch Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer of Gujarat cadre. He has served various prominent positions in the state government. Prior to joining GSPCL, he was serving as Chief Secretary in the state government of Gujarat.

Gujarat State Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (GSPC) was incorporated by the state government of Gujarat in 1979. It was re-incorporated as Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Limited in 1994 in order to establish a strong foothold in the entire hydrocarbon value chain. Over the years, the GSPC Group has emerged as the only oil & gas conglomerate to be promoted by a state government and has been successful in fulfilling the endeavour envisaged by the government of Gujarat.
