New Delhi: Maharatna petroleum PSU Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Wednesday announced the appointment of Pushp Kumar Nayar as Director (Human Resources) on its Board with effect from May 27. He was recommended for the post by the PESB panel on February 24.

According to BPCL, Nayar's appointment was approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting held on Wednesday, following communication received from the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). He will hold the position until the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Prior to his elevation, Nayar was serving as Executive Director (Corporate HR) at BPCL. A graduate of the University of Delhi, he also holds an MBA in Business Administration from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
BPCL said Nayar brings over 35 years of experience across marketing, retail, lubricants, supply chain and human resources functions. During his career, he has also served on deputation with Indraprastha Gas Limited and handled leadership roles across regions, headquarters and supply chain operations before taking over as Executive Director (HRD).

Nayar has made significant contributions in talent management, succession planning, HR analytics and AI-led interventions aimed at strengthening data-driven decision-making and future-ready organisational capabilities.
Currently, he serves as Chairman on the Board of Arunachal Gas Private Limited. He has earlier served as a Board Member of Central UP Gas Limited and Sabarmati Gas Limited.
