Cmde Sanjay Kumar set to be next CMD of NRDC

The PESB panel has recommended the name of Cmde Sanjay Kumar for the post of CMD of National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) on Thursday

New Delhi: Commodore Sanjay Kumar is set to be next Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), a PSU under the Ministry of Science & Technology. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Thursday. Presently, he is serving as Director HQ Naval Technical Group (Bangalore) of Indian Navy.

Cmde Kumar has been recommended for the post of CMD of NRDC from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held September 10. Out of 12 candidates, three candidates were from NTPC Limited and one each from Indian Oil, MOIL Limited, BHEL, RINL, NMDC Limited, Central Electronics Limited, SJVN Limited, Defence Production and Indian Navy

On appointment as CMD of NRDC, Cmde Kumar will replace Cmde Amit Rastogi (Retd), who has been heading the orgnisation since October 18, 2021.

As CMD of NRDC, Commodore Kumar will be the chief executive of the corporation and will be accountable to its board of directors and the government. He will also be responsible for the efficient functioning of the corporation for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters.

NRDC is an enterprise of DSIR under the Ministry of Science & Technology. It is engaged in the development, promotion and transfer of technologies emanating from various national R&D institutions. The corporation offers its services in wide areas to improve the manufacturing base in India with innovative research and acts as an effective catalyst to translate this innovative research into marketable industrial products.
