New Delhi: Dr Sanjeev Kumar Sinha has assumed charge as Director (Operations) of Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) with effect from March 9, following an appointment order issued by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
A seasoned mining professional, Dr Sinha brings over 25 years of experience from NMDC Ltd, where he played a key role in mine planning, production, lease acquisitions, and digital transformation initiatives. Prior to joining HCL, he served as the Head of Mine Planning and Chief of the Internal Safety Organization at NMDC.
An alumnus of Nagpur University, Dr Sinha holds a PhD in Mining Engineering from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, an MBA (HR) from IGNOU, and is a First-Class Mines Manager under MMR 1961. His research focuses on enhancing mine life and optimizing resource utilization.
Dr Sinha has contributed significantly to India’s mining sector, leading key projects in iron ore production, mine development, and technology adoption, including the integration of mine planning software and digital tracking systems. He has also represented India at international mining forums, presenting research at World Mining Congress (Kazakhstan, 2018; Brisbane, 2023) and attending PDAC 2023 in Canada.
In his new role at HCL, Dr Sinha is expected to drive operational efficiency and strategic growth for the company.
