EESL appoints Akhilesh Kumar Dixit as its new CEO

New Delhi: Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has appointed Akhilesh Kumar Dixit as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective June 16, 2025. Dixit brings with him over three decades of leadership experience in the power sector, having served in various senior roles at Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL).

A graduate in Electrical Engineering from Madan Mohan Technical University, Gorakhpur, and a Post Graduate Diploma holder in Business Management from the Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, Dixit has a diverse professional background that spans across substation and transmission line operations, business development, CSR, HR, and procurement.

During his 32-year-long career, Dixit has successfully led multidisciplinary teams and delivered complex, high-impact projects both in India and abroad. His appointment is seen as a strategic move aimed at enhancing EESL’s role in accelerating energy efficiency initiatives and adopting advanced sustainable technologies.

Commenting on his new role, Dixit said, “It is an honor to lead EESL at a time when energy efficiency is at the core of India’s sustainable development goals. I look forward to building on EESL’s strong legacy while charting a bold path forward—one that integrates smart technologies, fosters inclusive growth, and delivers measurable impact for our nation.”

As CEO, Dixit will be tasked with transforming EESL into a next-generation energy solutions provider, spearheading innovation, and reinforcing India’s commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited, a joint venture of public sector undertakings under the Ministry of Power, plays a critical role in implementing large-scale energy efficiency projects across the country.
