Harish Duhan assumes charge as CMD of SECL

Harish Duhan has officially taken charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL)

Bilaspur: Harish Duhan has officially taken charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). Upon his arrival at SECL headquarters, he was accorded a warm welcome by the SECL Board of Directors, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), departmental heads, and employees.

Prior to this appointment, Duhan served as the Director (Technical) - Operations at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). He brings with him an extensive experience of over 34 years in the coal mining sector.

Duhan began his career with Coal India Limited (CIL) in 1989 at Western Coalfields Limited (WCL). He holds a First-Class Mine Manager Certificate and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management.

Before assuming the role of CMD at SECL, he had held key leadership positions, including Area General Manager of the Nigahi Project at Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) and General Manager in the Corporate Project Planning Department.

Duhan possesses significant expertise in the implementation of environmentally friendly First Mile Connectivity projects, digitalization initiatives, and the development of solar energy projects. His leadership is expected to drive SECL’s growth and sustainability initiatives in the coming years.

An alumnus of Nagpur University, Duhan holds a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering. He joined Coal India Limited in 1989 from Western Coalfields and has since held several key positions, including Area General Manager of the Nigahi Project and General Manager of Corporate Project Planning at Northern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited. He also holds a First Class Mine Manager Certificate and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
