HCL extends additional charge of Director (Mining) for Dr Sanjeev Kumar Sinha

New Delhi: Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) has announced that Dr Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, Director (Operations), will continue to hold the additional charge of Director (Mining) beyond March 21, 2026, until further orders.

The extension has been granted as an interim measure in terms of an order issued by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India on March 20, 2026, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Dr Sinha had initially assumed the additional charge of Director (Mining) on March 28, 2025, following his appointment as Director (Operations) with effect from March 9, 2025.

Dr Sinha is a mining engineering professional with over 25 years of experience in the sector. He holds a degree in Mining Engineering from Nagpur University, an MBA in Human Resources from IGNOU, and a PhD in Mining Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.

Prior to joining HCL, he served at NMDC Limited, where he held key roles including Head of Mine Planning and Chief of Internal Safety Organisation. During his tenure, he contributed significantly to mine planning, production, processing, lease acquisition, and large-scale project development.

He played an important role in developing long-term production strategies, including contributing to NMDC’s vision plan for achieving 100 MTPA iron ore production by 2030 and preparing techno-economic feasibility reports for projects worth around Rs 27,000 crore.

Dr Sinha has also been associated with digital and operational initiatives such as ERP implementation, fleet management systems, and compliance tracking software. He has presented technical papers at national and international forums, including the World Mining Congress, and remains an active member of professional mining bodies.
