HEC’s Director (M&P) gets a PhD Degree

HEC’s Director (M&P) Rana S Chakravarty has been awarded Ph D Degree in Management by Jharkhand Rai University as he passed the examination organised by university

Ranchi: Heavy Engineering Corporation's (HEC) Director (Marketing and Production) Rana Subhasis Chakravarty has been awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Ph D) Degree by Jharkhand Rai University (JRU) on October 27. In a notification, the university said that HEC's Director (M&P) Rana S Chakravarty has completed Doctoral programme in the faculty of Commerce and Management and passed the examination which was held on September 27.

Chakravarty has completed his research under the guidance of JRU's Professor (Department of Management) Dr Shahid Akhter and Institute of Science and Management's (ISM), Ranchi, Associate Professor (Department of Management Studies) Dr Sandeep Kumar. The title of the thesis is 'Challenges and Opportunities of Corporate Social Responsibility in Public Sector: a case study of MECON Limited, Ranchi.' Chakravarty is currently serving as Director (Marketing & Production) at HEC Limited, a state-run Miniratna PSU under the Department of Heavy Industries.

Chakravarty assumed the charge of Director (Marketing) HEC Limited on January 17, 2018, and later additional charge of the post of Director (Production) on January 17. Chakravarty was awarded 'Eminent Engineer Award' by the Institution of Engineers, Jharkhand, in September this year. Prior to joining as HEC's Director (M&P), he was serving at MECON Limited, a state-run Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel. Chakravarty is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering with the first-class distinction, he pursued post-graduation in Managemen MBA (Marketing) from Birla Institute of Technology Mesra (BIT Mesra). He has about 33 years of service experience in one of the premier engineering consultancy and contracting company, MECON Limited.
