HPCL re-appoints Vivekananda Biswal as Independent Director

HPCL has announced the re-appointment of Vivekananda Biswal as an Independent Director on its Board

New Delhi: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has announced the re-appointment of Vivekananda Biswal as an Independent Director on its Board. The appointment, effective May 5, 2025, has been made based on a directive from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG), the company said in a regulatory filing.

According to the communication from the Ministry, Biswal will serve a one-year term from the date of the appointment or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Biswal, a resident of Odisha, holds a postgraduate degree in Commerce and is a member of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He is also associated with several other companies as a board member.

HPCL has also clarified that Biswal is not related to any existing Directors on the Board and is not barred from holding such office by any regulatory authority.
