HURL MD Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty appointed as 1st Managing Director of AVFCCL

HURL's Managing Director (MD) Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty has taken over charge as 1st MD of Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (AVFCCL) with effect from August 6

New Delhi: Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) has announced the appointment of its Managing Director, Dr Siba Prasad Mohanty, as the first Managing Director of Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Limited (AVFCCL) on August 6. The HURL team has extended its congratulations to Dr Mohanty on taking over this additional responsibility.

AVFCCL is a newly formed joint venture between the Government of Assam, Oil India Limited, National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), HURL, and Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL). The JV aims to bolster fertilizer production in the northeastern region and contribute to India’s self-reliance in the agriculture sector.

Dr Mohanty’s appointment is seen as a recognition of his exemplary leadership and strategic vision. He brings with him more than 26 years of rich and diverse experience, primarily in the marketing of agri-inputs. He has served in key roles at Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (RCF) from 1989 to 2015 and has held leadership positions at HIL (India) Limited and BVFCL prior to taking over as MD of HURL. During his tenure, he has led organisations to win several prestigious recognitions for excellence in CSR, HR practices, and organisational innovation.

An alumnus of Berhampur University, Odisha, Dr Mohanty holds a Master’s degree in Business Management. He has also completed executive programmes at IIM Lucknow and the Advanced Management Programme at IIM Kolkata. He has been the recipient of several individual accolades, including “Marketing Man of the Year” in 1995 and the “Best Employee” Award in 2012 at RCF.
