IRCTC re-appoints Namgyal Wangchuk as Independent Director on its Board

IRCTC has re-appointed Namgyal Wangchuk as a part-time Non-Official (Independent) Director on its Board with effect from April 15, 2025

New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has re-appointed Namgyal Wangchuk as a part-time Non-Official (Independent) Director on its Board with effect from April 15, 2025. The decision was made in accordance with an order issued by the Ministry of Railways dated April 15, 2025, and subsequently approved by the IRCTC Board.

A seasoned legal professional, Wangchuk brings with him over 25 years of diverse experience in civil, criminal, matrimonial, tribunal, and corporate legal practice. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from the University of Kashmir and completed his LL.B from the University of Delhi in 1997. He was enrolled with the Delhi Bar Council and practiced at the Delhi High Court between 1998 and 2000.

In addition to his legal practice, Wangchuk served as a Munsiff/Judicial Magistrate 1st Class from 2001 to 2003. He is currently empanelled as a legal advisor with leading nationalised banks including State Bank of India, IDBI Bank, Axis Bank, and Union Bank of India.

IRCTC has confirmed that Wangchuk is not related to any of the company's Directors or Key Managerial Personnel, and he does not hold any shares in the company. Furthermore, as per regulatory compliance, he has affirmed that he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any regulatory authority.

With this re-appointment, the IRCTC Board now comprises nine directors, including Chairman & Managing Director Shri Sanjay Kumar Jain and other functional, government nominee, and independent directors.
