New Delhi: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has appointed Javvadi V.N. Subramanyam (IAS), Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), as Government Nominee Director on its Board with effect from July 24.

The appointment was approved by the IREDA Board at its meeting held on July 24. According to the company, Subramanyam will serve as Government Nominee Director until the three vacant Functional Director positions are filled or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
An Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer with over 18 years of experience, Subramanyam has served in key roles across the Central and State governments in renewable energy, public financial management, industrial and infrastructure development, healthcare and governance reforms. He is currently serving as Joint Secretary in MNRE, contributing to India's renewable energy agenda.

Before joining MNRE, he served as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, where he handled financial market policy and international economic engagements. His previous assignments also include Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (APIIC), Commissioner of Industries, Chief Executive Officer of the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, Mission Director of the National Health Mission in Assam, and Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Goalpara, Assam.
A Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant who secured the All India First Rank, Subramanyam holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, a Master's in Public Policy, and the Chevening Gurukul Fellowship in Leadership from King's College London. He has also received several national and state-level awards for excellence in public service, innovation and governance.
