MoP&NG extends tenure of MV Iyer as Director (Marketing) of GAIL for 6 months

GAIL’s Director (Business Development) MV Iyer, who is holding additional charge of GAIL’s Director (Marketing) post, has been given a tenure extension of six months on additional charge

New Delhi: State-owned GAIL said in a regulatory filing on Thursday that Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG) has extended the tenure of MV Iyer as Director (Marketing) for six months with effect from April 18, or till the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest. Currently, Iyer is also serving as the Director (Business Development), GAIL. The filing also noted that Iyer has been given the additional charge of Director (Marketing) for the fourth time.

Brief profile

Iyer is an Electrical Engineer with 33 years of rich and diverse experience in GAIL in the execution of projects of up to Rs 40,000 crore, including current projects worth Rs 25,000 crore, spanning 16 states, 150 districts and City Gas Distribution (CGD) projects in six cities. He has been serving as Director (Business Development) of GAIL since November 2020. He was given additional charge as Director (Marketing) of GAIL upon ES Ranganathan was apprehended by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection to an alleged bribery case.
