NTPC’s Tajinder Gupta going to be next Director (Power) of BHEL

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel has recommended the name of Tajinder Gupta for Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited's (BHEL) CMD post

New Delhi: Tajinder Gupta is set to be next Director (Power) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. Presently, he is serving as Chief General Manager at NTPC Limited.

The Director's (Power) post in BHEL will fall vacant on October 1, 2023. Upinder Singh Matharu is current Director (Power) of BHEL.

Gupta has been recommended for the post of Director (Power) of BHEL from a list of eight candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on June 30. Out of eight candidates, six candidates were from BHEL and one each from REC Limited and NTPC Limited.

As Director (Power) of BHEL, Gupta will be a member of Board of the Directors and will report to Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for complete power sector business as well as new areas. The responsibilities include marketing & execution of large projects for providing end to end solutions.
