The candidates who appeared before the board included senior officials holding positions such as General Manager and Deputy General Manager across technical, offshore and marine domains.

However, after deliberations, the PESB decided not to recommend any of the applicants for the post. The board has advised the Administrative Ministry or Department concerned to consider an appropriate course of action for the selection process going forward.

The PESB has suggested that the ministry may explore alternative mechanisms, including constituting a Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC), or adopt any other suitable method with the approval of the competent authority to fill the vacancy.
