New Delhi: PLSS Chaitanya Prakash is set to be next Director (Power) of NLC India Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Coal. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director (Operations) at Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).

Prakash has been recommended for the post of Director (Power) of NLC India from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed in the PESB's selection meeting No. 44/2026 held on June 9. The other candidates, who were on the list, were from leading public sector undertakings, including NLC India, Damodar Valley Corporation, NTPC, BHEL and SAIL.
As Director (Power) of NLC India Ltd, Prakash will be a member of board of directors of the company. He will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, expansion and commissioning of the company's thermal power plants. At the role, he will also oversee power station engineering activities and represent the company before key regulatory and statutory bodies, while driving operational excellence and capacity growth across NLC India's power business.

The recommendation of PESB will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval before the appointment is formalised.
